Who we're looking for

Real teachers of real Puerto Rican Spanish.

We're building a small circle of tutors who teach the way Puerto Rican Spanish is actually spoken. That means Boricua natives or tutors with deep, credible fluency. It means a teaching practice, not just conversational skills. It means care.

You're Boricua.

Native to the island or the diaspora, speaking Puerto Rican Spanish the way it's actually spoken. This is the core of the circle.

You have a real teaching practice.

You've taught Spanish to English speakers before. Privately, at a school, or through a platform. You know how to explain things without a textbook.

You care about culture, not just grammar.

You'll teach reggaeton lyrics, plantain recipes, and the words nobody's abuela learned in class. Spanish as it lives, not as it's flattened.

You want to grow with a small circle.

We stay curated, not a giant marketplace. Tutors get real students, not a race to the bottom.

What you get

Everything except the teaching, so you can focus on the teaching.

You set your rate.

Hourly rate, package structures, and student-specific rates are all yours. We don't cap or race.

We bring the students.

Through the matcher, the circle, and search, students find you. We handle the discovery.

Bookings and payments handled.

Instant booking, no manual approvals. Withdraw your earnings whenever you like. No card-chasing.

Nimodo, included.

Your classroom lives in Nimodo. Homework, notes, vocabulary, corrections, progress, and an AI tutor, yours from day one.

How you earn

Honest math. No surprises.

We're honest about how we make money and what you keep.

Frequently asked

What tutors want to know.

What kind of tutors are you looking for?
A small circle of tutors who teach Puerto Rican Spanish the way it's actually spoken, with a real teaching practice and genuine care for culture, not just grammar.
Do I have to be from Puerto Rico?
Ideally you're Boricua, from the island or the diaspora. If you're not but have deep, credible fluency in Puerto Rican Spanish, tell us your story in the application. That piece tells us the most.
How much can I earn?
You set your own hourly rate. We take a platform fee on completed classes and pass through payment processing. Our compensation section shows the honest math.
How does the platform take work?
A percentage platform fee on completed classes, plus payment processing. Trial classes are lower-margin on purpose. They're for meeting students, not for us.
How does Nimodo fit in?
Boricua handles booking, payments, and your student relationships. Nimodo is your classroom: homework, notes, vocabulary, corrections, progress, and an AI tutor. It's included from day one.
Do I set my own rates?
Yes. Hourly rate, packages, and student-specific rates are all yours. We never cap them or race them down.
Can I bring my existing students?
Yes, and we encourage it. Invite them from your Students page after approval. They get Nimodo, you get organized bookings and automatic payments.
How long does approval take?
Application review takes about a week. Profile review after onboarding usually takes two to three days. We read and review everything by hand.
Can I teach part-time? Full-time?
Either. You set your weekly availability and can cap your classes per day. Teach as much or as little as fits your life.
What if I need to take time off?
Turn on vacation mode anytime. Students can't book new classes with you while it's on, and your scheduled classes are unaffected.
How do payouts work?
Your earnings land in your Habla Boricua wallet as soon as each class is confirmed, and you withdraw to your Stripe account whenever you like — in US dollars. You connect Stripe once, during onboarding or anytime after.
Can I teach students internationally?
Yes. Classes happen over Google Meet, so your students can be anywhere. Everything runs in US dollars.
Ready?

Let's teach together.

Applications review takes about a week. We're small and we read every single one.
